1. Agreement

These Terms of Use govern your use of EXIF Editor and this website. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or website. Any terms imposed by the platform from which you download the app also apply where relevant.

2. Using the app

You may use EXIF Editor to inspect and edit metadata in media you are entitled to access and process. You must comply with applicable law and respect others’ privacy and intellectual property rights. Do not use the app to misrepresent the origin or ownership of media, or to violate others’ rights.

3. Your media and exports

You retain your rights in your photos, videos, and other content. You are responsible for choosing the media, metadata changes, cleanup settings, and export destinations. Exports are new copies; the app does not edit the source file. Keep your own backup of important media and verify an exported copy before relying on or sharing it.

4. Format and metadata limits

Reading and writing support depends on iOS, device codecs, and the source format. Photo export re-encodes pixels and may convert a format. Animated and multipage images export only their first frame. Some proprietary metadata, Live Photo pairing, depth or HDR resources, and timed metadata within video tracks may not be preserved or removed.

Cleanup options are designed to remove the metadata fields described in the app, but they do not guarantee that an exported file contains no identifying information. Review the exported file when privacy or exact metadata matters.

5. Third-party services

The app uses Apple system pickers, Photos, sharing, and MapKit where you choose those features. Apple and any destination you select may have their own terms and privacy practices. See our Privacy Policy for details about the app’s data handling.

6. Availability and responsibility

We aim to keep the app useful and accurate, but availability and behavior can vary with iOS versions, devices, media formats, and third-party services. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app and website are provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or a particular export result. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

7. Changes and contact

We may update the app, website, or these terms. The date above identifies the current version of these terms. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised terms, to the extent permitted by law.
